Het Veluws Zandsculpturen festijn
Flexibility and advice ensure growth and an improved experience
Since 2012, Ticketcounter has been providing online ticket sales for 't Veluws Zandsculturen festijn. By quickly implementing a time slots module, this event was able to continue during Corona period
The Challenge
Since 2009, 't Veluws Zandsculpturenfestijn is an annual event where the most talented 'carvers' show their skills. Every year they put on a beautiful exhibition with a genuine Dutch theme. After handling ticket sales at the door for several years, it was decided in 2012 to also offer tickets online. After three successful editions we were looking for ways to grow further. Inspired by a number of other parties in the market, we turned to online ticket sales," says Erik Koetsier of 't Veluws Zandsculturenfestijn. The flexibility of the Ticketcounter system offered many other possibilities besides an online ticket shop. For example, 't Veluws Zandsculpturen festijn could easily and quickly anticipate the rules set by the government during the Corona crisis in 2020.
The Solution
With 220,000 visitors in 2019, 't Veluws Sand Sculpture Festival was keen to be able to open responsibly in 2020 as well. However, due to the need to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters between visitors, some planning was required. The Ticketcounter time-slot module provided the solution. By linking capacity to the time of arrival, it became possible to spread out the visits so that everyone could enjoy the exhibition in a responsible manner. The reseller module increased the reach to multiple target groups by linking with resellers. Al together, this ensured that in 2020 and 2021 a lot of visitors were still able to enjoy the sand sculptures.
"We are a small organization and do not have the manpower to deal with our ticketing system on a daily basis. That's why it's so nice that Ticketcounter supports and advises us in this!"
